Remodeling

Why is it that every job around the house takes so much longer and is more involved than it seems it will be before you start? Whew, we finished the girls room today. Well, it's not actually finished, but good enough for Hannah's birthday party tomorrow night. We still have to get beds -- their mattresses are on the floor, a nightstand, lamp, etc. I would also like to get Hannah a new chest or dresser. Hers is pretty old. Billy said today it is probably over 30 yrs. old :-). But, over all, the room looks good. It is very pink -- hot pink walls and pink cheetah print bedspreads. We painted the shelves black and some of the furniture will be black. They are very happy with it. Of course, Billy and Will don't care too much for it :-). We had a hard time finding something that both girls liked. They are so different and have such different tastes, that picking out room decor was harder than I thought it would be. But, they did finally find something that they both really like.

The whole project was a good lesson in both patience and diligence. Hannah is so much like me in that she wants everything done right now so we both have to work on patience.

This is a picture from while we were camping last summer. I love this picture because it really shows the girls' different personalities.
