Wow!! What a great weekend!
This weekend was our annual Bible Conference at our church. I don't know how many years we have had a Bible Conference at our church -- a long time, but last year we went to having it start on Thur. night. I love having the extra day!! It gives us more time for fellowship, the preachers have more time to preach, and my mind has time to absorb what I am hearing. We have some precious friends who come for the conference each year and it is always so fun to see them and have them into our home. The kids also have friends who stay with us each year. This year, Will's buddy Luke didn't get to come. We sure did miss him this year and I know Will missed him as our house was filled with girls :-). The girls all enjoyed doing each other's hair and make-up all afternoon on Saturday!!
All in all, there were thirteen preachers over the weekend. And there were some great messages! Because I teach the class for the 4-7 year olds, I only got to hear about half of them, but the ones I heard were great! One preacher said Sunday morning that there was enough gospel preached this weekend to save the world. We are praying for those who were there who were lost that they will continue to be under conviction until they get saved. I am so thankful for my salvation!! I never tire of hearing a salvation message and rejoicing in what Christ did for me!
I will work on listening to the messages that I missed as they are all on our church website. Billy does a great job of recording all of the messages and then getting them onto the website!
As usual, Tim and Kim did a great job with the food for the conference. It is no easy job to feed 150-200 people four meals, but they make it look so easy!!! They do such a wonderful job and they do it so gracefully -- not a bit of grumbling or complaining!! And this year Conner helped a lot too. I saw him in the kitchen with his apron on several time! I guess he is in training.
I laid around and slept alot yesterday and I feel almost human again today. So, it is off and running on another week of school -- we are going to have a light day today and let the kids sleep in a little.
I will close with one of my favorite quotes of the conference -- "When it comes to serving the Lord, don't say 'I can't', say 'I won't' ".
