Time for School

Well, after a great summer, it is time to start back to some routine and schoolwork. We are starting school tomorrow. Officially, this will begin our 8th year of homeschooling. Wow, that sounds like a lot. You would think that after that much time, I would be an expert. Maybe if all of my children were the same, our circumstances were the same every year, that would be true. But, in some ways, every year is a new experience. They are all a year older, they are ready to learn new things and they each learn so differently. I guess if it were the same each year, I might be a little bored. But, boredom is never a problem.

This year, the kids will be 7th, 5th, and 2nd grade. I feel so blessed to be able to homeschool. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to have these three special blessings -- to be able to mold them, train them, and prepare them to serve Him. I thank my husband for allowing me to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool. Even when money is tight and we don't have the money to do a lot of things or buy a lot of things, he has always allowed me to be at home. And I thank my 3 precious children for being so patient with me. There are so many times that I don't feel worthy or wise enough to homeschool, but they hang in there with me.

So, I begin this school year by committing it to the Lord. I pray that we will all continue to learn what is truly important!
