Baseball

Well, we finished up the regular season for baseball last Friday. Will's team ended up placing 3rd place out of 7 teams so they were pretty excited. We won the first game Friday night which was VERY close and so we had to play again. We lost the second game by quite a bit. The boys were drained from the first game and plus we were playing a really good team. Will's first at-bat during the second game, he hit a ball over the fence. We were SO excited!!! He was one of only 3 kids who hit one over the fence this year in his age bracket. I wish I had had my camera. I will never forget -- as Will touched home plate, Billy was standing there with his arms open and Will jumped into his daddy's arms and Billy swung him around. I had tears in my eyes as I watched them together. What a precious moment!!

Billy has decided to coach an 8 year old all star team so that Will can play all stars again this year. We didn't think that there would be enough players, but we rounded up enough to have a team. Billy has helped to coach every year, but this will be his first time as a head coach. He will do a GREAT job, I'm sure!!!!

So, it looks as if our summer will be quite full -- Billy coaching and Will playing baseball, and Hannah is doing a summer performance at St. Luke. They are doing the play "Carousel". I guess Kristen and I will be summer cheerleaders and play attenders :-).
